Cutaneous Lymphoma

Cutaneous Lymphoma

Lymphoma affects less than 1% of the horse population.  The cutaneous or skin form of lymphoma carries the best prognosis for long term survival.  Corticosteroids are the treatment of choice.  Below are pictures from a case we recently treated on a 20 year old appaloosa.  The after pictures are taken 30 days after starting on decreasing doses of daily steroid administration.  Because cutaneous lymphoma can potentially metastasize, a full physical examination and blood work were performed to rule out any invasive involvement.
